The National Day for Truth & Reconciliation provides an opportunity to reflect on inter-generational trauma, unconscious cultural biases and the disconnected relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. On this upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Newly encourages employees to take meaningful steps in their professional and personal lives to support First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, and to ensure that respect, acceptance and inclusion of everyone is fostered in the workplace.
To support these efforts, we encourage employees to engage with the following list of resources:
- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Truth and Reconciliation Commission
- Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action
- Reconciliation Canada
- Reconciliation Canada: Impact Stories
- Press Progress – First hand stories
- CBC – Beyond 94 Truth and Reconciliation in Canada
- National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls
- Historica Canada: Indigenous History
- Learning resources about First Nations, Inuit and Metis across Canada
