
Michelle Jones is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Practice Lead with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through mental health challenges. She specializes in trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, and addictions, with a particular focus on first responders and those recovering from workplace or traumatic life events. Michelle is dedicated to fostering a supportive, collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their healing journey.
Holding a Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge, Michelle has built an extensive career in comprehensive psychological care. She integrates evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients regain control over their lives.
As a Clinical Practice Lead at The Newly Institute, Michelle plays a key role in mentorship and training, supporting a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality mental health care. She also has extensive experience in workplace mental health and reintegration, working closely with clients, employers, and third-party stakeholders to facilitate successful return-to-work programs. Her expertise spans crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and trauma processing, ensuring individuals receive well-rounded, personalized support.
Michelle is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and holds additional certifications in EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), HeartMath, Brain Story, and Psychological First Aid.
Beyond her professional work, Michelle values continuous learning and personal growth. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys. Her goal is to help clients build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and move forward with confidence in both their personal and professional lives.
Michelle works with clients under the age of 18, depending on client need. Michelle does not work with couples or families.
