Kent Sargeant, MSc, MD, FRCPC has a background in Behavioural Genetics (McMaster University), and completed his residency in Psychiatry in Calgary before taking a Fellowship in Psychiatric Epidemiology (Columbia University). He is a Staff Psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry, Rockyview General Hospital and a former Clinical Medical Director of Inpatient Unit 45. As a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, he has received a number of teaching awards.

In his clinical work, Dr. Sargeant uses biopsychosocial approach that integrates trauma and attachment perspectives. He has undergone training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, and maintains a private psychiatric practice in Calgary.
