Healthier Coping Skills for PTSD
Effective treatment for PTSD requires a multi-pronged approach, and in our Intensive Outpatient Program, we will make use of every available tool we have to help you achieve rapid resolution of your symptoms. With Accelerated Resolution Therapy, you will learn the tools to remove the emotional aspect from your traumatic memories, while Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy will help you to develop healthier coping mechanisms and develop life goals. Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Mindful Movement focus on the mind-body system, and have been shown to improve sleep, concentration, and emotional regulation.
Reducing Symptoms
It is estimated that one third of first responders, including paramedics, firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and rescue workers, suffer from some degree of PTSD, compared to one in five in the general population (source: Institutes of Health). Over 70,000 Canadian first responders have suffered from it at some point (source: Public Safety Canada). But with the right mix of treatment, patients with PTSD can experience a rapid and significant reduction in their symptoms, allowing them to get back to work and back to their lives. At The Newly Institute, we can help you get there.
