What is an IOP?
An Intensive Outpatient Program, or IOP, is as the name suggests: an intensive period of mental health treatment designed to give clients maximum treatment benefit in a short timeframe. Ultimately, it provides rapid resolution of depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction and more, and helps people get back to their lives sooner.
At The Newly, our IOP includes about 120 hours of therapy and other complementary training over four weeks. Clients receive individual treatment sessions with therapists and participate in group work to learn skills for improving sleep, managing grief, moving mindfully and more.
5 Benefits of IOP
Compared to receiving traditional therapy or moving into a residential centre for treatment, IOP offers many significant benefits. Specifically, you:
- Receive maximum therapy in a minimal amount of time. At The Newly, our program condenses three years’ worth of traditional therapy into one month-long intensive treatment program. The treatment intensity helps clients achieve results faster, getting them back to their lives sooner rather than later.
- Can live at home while getting treatment. With an outpatient program, you can continue to participate in your everyday life while receiving care and treatment. This also allows you to learn management and coping skills for your usual triggers and stressors.
- Have access to multiple kinds of treatments. The Newly’s IOP incorporates a wide range of treatments and skill-building sessions from a diverse group of mental health practitioners – all under one roof. We offer the most innovative, evidence-based treatments to support your mental health, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, medically managed ketamine treatments, and much more.
- Are supported by a team of mental health professionals. When you enroll in a program, you gain access to a team of psychiatrists, occupational therapists, nurses, addictions physicians, psychologists, and more who work together to craft a program catered to your needs. At The Newly, our team works collaboratively to ensure every practitioner’s voice is heard and everyone works together to prioritize our clients’ recovery and wellbeing.
- Experience rapid symptom relief and resolution. Because an IOP provides such intensive therapy over a short time, it’s ideal for people who want to gain wellness, increase quality and function in their lives, and do so as quickly as possible. And it’s not a Band-Aid solution, either. The Newly’s Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to get to the core of your trauma and pain, help you heal, and go on to have a life worth living.
